Affordable Housing Program

Housing Choice Vouchers Program (HCVP) aka Affordable Housing Program

NeighborWorks® Housing Solutions (NHS) administers the local Housing Choice Vouchers Program  (HCVP), more commonly known as Section 8, and facilitates the distribution of the vouchers, maintains and manages the waitlist, and manages the required annual or bi-annual inspection and recertification process to ensure the housing units comply with HUD — and our — quality standards.

What is Affordable Housing?

Affordable Housing is the federal government’s primary program to provide housing for Americans who are living in poverty, as well as the elderly and disabled.

NHS has partnered with AffordableHousing.com which provides a robust online property listing database. Affordablehousing.com works with landlords and public housing agencies to maintain the largest and most accurate listing of voucher program rental properties available in both our local area and nationally.

Please Note: NHS is not responsible for the accuracy of the information listed on the AffordableHousing.com site, as it is submitted by outside sources.

Listings are available to potential Housing Choice Voucher/Affordable Housing tenants and others seeking apartments, duplexes, single-family homes, or townhomes in the private market. If you have any questions regarding registering, creating or viewing property listings, please contact the Affordable Housing toll-free helpline at 1-866-466-7328.

Landlords List Your Property

We highly recommend that you add photos to your property listing. It’s better advertising and generally results in faster lease-up.

Landlords who would like to list their property or properties as Section 8 housing can list on the AffordableHousing.com website. AfforfableHousing.com provides property rental listing services directly to local and national Public Housing Authorities.

The AffordableHousing.com site is becoming the primary database source of information for Public Housing Authority rental listings throughout the country and is a great resource for landlords seeking new tenants.

If you are not yet a landlord, but would like to be, register for our one-on-one Landlord Training Program and learn all you need to know to rent comfortably and find the right tenants for your property.
