Intake Specialist - Leased Housing

Support the Intake Team in all required tasks associated with onboarding applicants, relocating applicants, transferring applicants and clients to and from NHS to sister agencies; waiting list management including data entry; determine applicant eligibility; voucher issuance, monitoring extension and expiration; provide guidance and superb customer service to landlords and applicants relative to the completion of Request for Tenancy Approval, RFTA paperwork, manage the RFTA approval process; determine applicant eligibility including but not limited to the Housing Choice Voucher Program, assist with scheduling and tracking selected applicants from the waiting list, file applicant paperwork and files; six-tab applicant lease-up files, assist with the port in and port out process; support the mission and objectives of NeighborWorks Housing Solutions through the delivery of professional assistance and guidance within the confines of the program rules and regulations.
Job Requirements & Skills:
Support relationships between NeighborWorks Housing Solutions and its constituent population by displaying courteous and cooperative support.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree or relevant experience preferred
• Familiarity with HUD/ DHCD housing program regulations and eligibility requirements preferred
• Customer service experience
• Organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to interact with people of different socioeconomic backgrounds
• Effective written, verbal, interpersonal and communications skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires ability to regularly lift up to 25 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Work is performed in an office environment.
