NeighborWorks Housing Solutions – Leased Housing Department is upgrading to a new voucher management system. This much needed upgrade will streamline processes and improve the overall experience for all voucher holders and housing providers. Please be aware that beginning on September 8th, and ending on October 9th, we will experience a “go dark” period when system functionality will be limited. Subsidy payments are expected to be released without interruption.

**Effective January 13, 2025, EOHLC will close its Housing Choice Voucher Program/Section 8 mobile voucher waiting list until further notice. Applications with a postmark, email, fax, or drop-off date of January 13th or later will not be accepted either by EOHLC or NeighborWorks Housing Solutions.
Rental Assistance
NeighborWorks® Housing Solutions (NHS) provides and administers rental assistance to approximately 2,800 households in Plymouth and Bristol counties through a contract with the State’s Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC).
Rental subsidies enable low-income households to secure decent rental housing by paying the difference between what a household or family is able to pay and the total housing cost.
How It Works
Program participants find housing that meets program requirements on the private rental market, and NHS inspects those apartments prior to move-in and on an annual or bi-annual basis thereafter to ensure units continue to meet Housing Quality Standards.
The landlord/owner, tenant, and NHS enter into a contract that sets the total rent the landlord receives while clearly specifying the share of rent for which the tenant and NHS are each responsible.
Participants may choose housing anywhere in our service area. If a participant is outside our service area, it’s possible to select housing elsewhere in the state through a network of regional agencies that contract with EOHLC; out-of-state transfers can also be arranged under some programs.
